Let’s deep dive!

You Have the Data. But Are You Prioritizing the Right Accounts?

More signals don’t always mean better insights. Between GitHub engagement, free trial sign-ups, product usage, code interactions and so many other developer activities - devtool companies have access to more intent signals than ever. But with all this data flooding in - your hottest accounts, your next big deal - it often gets buried under the noise.

In fact, reps end up spending hours sifting through data trying to figure out which accounts to focus on. And by the time they do? The potential accounts are already lost.

You need a way to filter out the noise and surface accounts that are actively moving toward a purchase decision.

It’s why we built Tags in Reo.Dev.

Tags automatically highlight accounts and developers based on their behavior, making it effortless to filter, prioritize, and personalize outreach.

Tags in Reo.Dev:

Tags in Reo.Dev are smart filters that help surface high-intent accounts and developers based on specific activities and actions you want to take on them. Tags appear as labels associated with an account or a developer - making it easier for you to filter and identify accounts/developers and get more context on them.

It’s a great way to label and prioritize high-intent accounts or developers based on their activity or specific attributes.

Types of Tags in Reo.Dev:

Reo.Dev provides two types of Tags to help you focus on accounts/developers that matter most.

🔹 Pre-Defined Tags

These are pre-built tags to help you quickly track critical engagement signals.

  • Surge → A sudden spike in developer activity.
  • Buyer → A developer likely involved in purchasing decisions.
  • New Activity → A developer engages with your product in a new way.
  • CRM Stage → An account moves from In-Market → Discovery in your CRM.
  • Dev Funnel —> An account changes stages in Developer Funnel
  • New —> A deanonymised developer is added to an account

🔹 Custom Tags

While Reo.Dev provides you some default tags, you can also create your own custom tags while building segments. These custom tags automatically appear in front of all relevant accounts, developers, and buyers who fulfill the segment criteria. This ensures instant visibility into key opportunities, making it easier to identify and action on them.

How to create a custom tag on Reo.Dev:

  • Go to segments >> create segment
  • Enter the tag name and description.

Pro-tip: Always add a description to give more context on a tag.

  • All account tags will display for all accounts matching the criteria. Similarly, for a developer segment, the tag will display for all developers matching the criteria. And the same follows for buyers.

💡 Examples of Custom Tags:

You can create tags to surface developers/accounts based on specific high-intent activities. Few examples of such tags are:

#1 Viewed pricing —>  Create a segment of accounts with more than three visits to the pricing page. This indicates strong purchase intent.

Tag name: Viewed pricing page

Tag description: Pricing page visited more than 3 times. Put them in outreach sequence.

You can filter these accounts to prioritize outreach for reviewing high-value product features. This enables more targeted, contextual communication, increasing the relevance of your messaging. Tags to highlight key insights

#1 Economic Buyer Involved —> Create a segment of accounts with developers tagged as potential buyers - indicating decision-making authority. When this tag appears in your account segments, it indicates that key decision-makers, such as CXOs, Founders, or VPs, are actively involved. This offers a great opportunity to reach out to buyers who hold the ultimate purchase power, as these accounts are likely to move faster through the sales funnel.

Tag name: Buyer involved

Tag description: Has decision making authority. Get in touch.

Filters: Developer >> Designation >> Select - CXOs, Founders, VPs

To make this a more niche segment - you can specify the activity type, count of activity, and date range.

#2Target accounts - > Create a segment of all accounts belonging to a custom list you’ve uploaded. You can filter your existing target accounts using this tag.

Tag name: Accounts from [list name] list.

Tag description: Belongs to the [list name] list.

Filters:

  • Source>> Lists >>Uploaded list name

#3 Has business email - Create a segment of developers and buyers with verified business email IDs.

Tag name: Known business email ID

Filters:

  • Developer >> Has business email >> Yes

There’s no end to the number and types of custom tags you can create to highlight key actions and activities. It makes it a lot easier for your sales and marketing teams to identify relevant accounts/developers and prioritize outreach.

Making the most out of tags:

Tags don’t just help you organize accounts—but also fuel smarter outreach and drive faster conversions. Here’s how:

Filter & Prioritize High-Intent Accounts

You can use tags as filters to instantly see high-intent/highly engaged accounts and prioritize outreach accordingly. For eg - the surge tag in Reo.Dev is associated with all accounts where there has been a spike in developer activity. By filtering accounts based on the surge tag - reps can easily spot accounts that are actively engaging and accordingly prioritize outreach.

Send Highly Personalized Outreach

Tags give you a lot of valuable context on account/developers which you can leverage to make your outreach much more personalized. For instance - If you create a custom tag of reviewed key feature/page - you can spot accounts/developers who’ve interacted with those specific key pages and reference this in your outreach.

Sync Tags with Your CRM for Seamless Action

Tags flow directly into your CRM so you can take quick actions and engage leads at the perfect time.

An example here is - creating Hubspot workflows based on tags. Any account/developer/buyer with a specific tag can be enrolled in your email campaign for instance. So every time a new developer/accounts is tagged - they automatically get enrolled in your workflow.

You can also leverage this data in your CRM to create MQL scoring. For instance - accounts visiting the pricing page 3 or more times can be assigned a 10-point score. Or accounts who’ve signed up for a free trial can be given a score of say 20.

Tags in Reo.Dev ensure that sales and marketing teams can quickly identify, track, and act on high-value opportunities without manual sifting. And most importantly - it gives you entire context on an account/developer/buyer  - so every outreach is timely, personalized, and drives real conversions.
