Introduction
HubSpot allows users to create custom team views for companies and contacts, enabling tailored visibility into high-intent accounts and developer activity tracked by Reo.Dev. This playbook walks through:
Setting up custom account and contact views in HubSpot.
Adding Reo.Dev insights to each view.
Creating automated property updates for dynamic tracking.
Best practices to ensure team-wide accessibility.
What Permissions Are Required?
To create and assign custom team views, users must have admin access in HubSpot.
Why can’t other users see my custom views? If a view is assigned to a specific team, only users in that team will see it.
📌 Best Practice: For larger teams, create separate views for Marketing, Sales, SDRs/BDRs, and AEs for role-based visibility.
Plays are step-by-step guides designed to help you effectively use Reo.Dev & implement workflows for engagement.
Creating Custom Account Views in HubSpot
Step 1: Access HubSpot Record Customization
Navigate to CRM → Companies and open a company record that has Reo.Dev data populated.
Click on Customize Record (Top Right Corner).
View existing custom layouts assigned to teams and the default view.
Click Create Team View to start.
Understanding Card Placements
HubSpot allows you to add cards in three placements:
Left Sidebar
Middle Column
Right Sidebar
📌 For this playbook, we will place all Reo.Dev data cards in the middle column for a streamlined overview.
Step 2: Create Custom Cards for Account Views
1. REO: Account Status Overview
📌 Purpose: Provides a quick snapshot of an account’s fit, activity level, segment association, and last recorded engagement.
📌 How it helps: Gives an instant read on account potential without switching to Reo.Dev.
📌 How to create:
Click Add Card → Create Card.
Select Data Highlight as the card type.
Title the card: REO: Account Status Overview.
Search and add the following four properties:
REO: Customer Fit
REO: Segment Name
REO: Activity Score
REO: Account Link
Click Save.
2. REO: Account Activity Summary
📌 Purpose: Summarizes all major Reo.Dev activity linked to an account.
📌 How to create:
Click Add Card → Create Card.
Select Data Highlight as the card type.
Title: REO: Account Activity Summary.
Add one property:
REO: Account Summary (as this text field can be large).
Save the card.
3. REO: Account Lifecycle & Engagement Tracker
📌 Purpose: This view tracks account progression across lifecycle stages while dynamically surfacing Reo.Dev engagement insights. It enables sales and marketing teams to instantly identify active, high-intent accounts based on custom HubSpot properties populated via workflows.
📌 Why it matters?
Helps automate tracking of high-intent accounts based on their engagement with product docs, key pages, GitHub repos, and more.
Provides a clear snapshot of an account’s lifecycle stage alongside live Reo.Dev activity data.
Ensures that SDRs & AEs focus on the right accounts based on recent interactions.
3.1: Create Custom Account Properties in HubSpot
To enrich HubSpot views with dynamic tracking, we first create custom account properties.
🔹 Example Use Case: Let’s say we want to flag accounts that have engaged with key product documentation on LangChain integration.
➡️ How?
In HubSpot, navigate to Settings → Data Management → Properties.
Select Company Information as the object type.
Click Create Property.
Set Property Name: Active on Docs - Langchain
Choose Field Type: Dropdown (Yes/No)
Add two options:
Yes (if an account is actively engaging with the LangChain documentation).
No (if there’s no recent engagement).
📌 Other property ideas:
Active on Docs - Pricing Pages (to track pricing intent).
Active on GitHub - Forked Repos (to track product implementation).
High Engagement - POC Builders (to track Proof-of-Concept activity).
3.2: Automate Property Updates with HubSpot Workflows
Now that we’ve created a custom account property, we need a workflow that will automatically update this field based on Reo.Dev segment data.
🔹 Example: Update “Active on Docs - Langchain” Property
Navigate to Automations → Workflows in HubSpot.
Click Create Workflow → From Scratch.
Select Company-Based Workflow.
Define Enrollment Criteria:
Filter: REO: Segment Name → is any of → Active on Docs - Langchain
Set the Action Step:
Click “+” → CRM → Update Record.
Select Property: Active on Docs - Langchain.
Set Value: Yes.
Save & Activate the Workflow.
📌 Why is this needed?
This automatically updates the field without manual effort.
Ensures that the right accounts are surfaced as soon as they engage with key content.
If you want to see the end-to-end process of creating a high-intent account segment in Reo.Dev, syncing it to HubSpot, and using it as an enrollment trigger in a workflow, this playbook covers it all.
3.3: Create the Account Lifecycle & Engagement Tracker View
Once the custom fields and workflows are set, we display this data in HubSpot custom views for quick visibility.
Active on Docs (custom property created via workflow).
Active on GitHub - Forked Repos (if relevant).
Click Preview Card → Save.
📌 Final Outcome? A single card that automatically updates based on real-time developer activity in an account, allowing sales teams to focus on accounts that matter without manually checking logs or reports.
4. REO: Account Tags Summary
📌 Purpose: Displays tag-based insights on an account’s developer activity and interests.
